The TiLite TR titanium wheelchair starts at 14 lbs. and is individually built for each user. The TR's options include two-sided footplates, adjustable back upholstery, new and improved quick release anti-tips, our new (patent pending) adjustable camber and multi-adjustable ergonomically designed wheel locks. The TiLite TR is the only choice to increase your quality of life by maximizing mobility and stamina through customizing the chair to best suit your needs.
The TiLite TR is hand crafted from seamless, aerospace-grade titanium. Titanium has no equal when it comes to dampening vibrations caused by riding over rough or uneven surfaces. This means superior comfort for the user during many hours of use. Titaniums weight is about one-half that of the aluminum used in most wheelchairs. This means that a complete 16 x 16 TR in its standard configuration weighs only 17.5 pounds and 9.9 pounds with the rear wheels off! The TR is TiLites lightest wheelchair. Titanium is incredibly strong. This means the TR will shake off years of abuse.
Custom Built
Each TR begins life in our Designs Unlimited Studio, where we draw
the frame to each users individual specifications. Next, TiLite
fabricators and welders bring the drawings to life by hand building
the TRs 1.00 dual-tube titanium frame to exacting standards.
Finally, before each TR leaves the TiLite factory in Washington
State, we carefully assemble and inspect it to ensure that it
matches precisely what our customer has ordered. Each TR is like no
other TR.
Raising the "Bar
Rigid wheelchairs with upper and lower frame tubes maintain more
rigidity than mono-tube wheelchairs, which only have upper frame
tubes. The more rigid the frame, the more optimal the energy
transfer between the users push and the wheels rotation. On the TR
and YR, TiLite minimized the space between the lower frame tubes
and the upper frame tubes, thereby achieving increased rigidity for
improved performance without sacrificing compactness for transport
purposes.
Bullet Caster Housing
TiLites exclusive Bullet Caster Housing was created by designing an
integral frame component with two goals in mind; low weight and
elegant looks. Like many of TiLites innovations, the Bullet Caster
design reduces the weight of the chair. Sometimes simple really is
better.
TiShaft Back Release Bar
The TR and YR also feature the TiShaft back release bar, which
eliminates the outdated string used to fold the backrest on most
chairs.
Color
The TiLite TR and YR are now available with a Satin or Polished
titanium finish or in one of 17 painted frame colors. Whether you
are looking for subtle, bright, or just plain cool, now there is a
TiLite look for you.
