The General Use Gel "E" Seat Cushion is a pressure reducing cushion, designed to assist in the prevention, treatment and management of pressure ulcers. Fits all 18 w x 16 d wheelchair seats.

The viscous gel bladder provides optimized pressure reduction, support and comfort. The removable and replaceable zippered cover is made from a, urethane coated, nylon cover top, that is water resistant and vapor permeable and the base is vinyl for durability.

Incorporates advanced Durahesive skin barrier technology and design to offer security and skin protection to nonambulatory patients with loose stool, fecal incontinence or diarrhea. Equipped with a tap for use with a bedside drain unit (tap may be cut off and collector sealed with provided tail closure). Gas/odor filter deodorizes and releases gas.

These pads may look lumpy in pictures and that is why they are so comfortable. When an elbow or whatever presses against it - there is open space within the pad so the pad naturally molds around what it is cushioning and creates a custom fit. And these 'knobs' move with the body almost eliminating shear! The pad maintains softness under pressure while reducing shear and allowing air flow.

A non-irritating hypo-allergenic medical tape allows you to easily change these self-adhesive covers in seconds.

How to Use the StomaShield:

Make sure the area around stoma is clear and dry. Peel paper backing from adhesive band. Locate StomaShield over stoma with adhesive band toward top and slightly above stoma. Press adhesive band to neck, making sure StomaShield is firmly attached. Replace StomaShield daily. When removing the StomaShield, pull gently away from neck.

Important Notes: If StomaShield is too large or does not conform exactly to your neck shape, simply trim with scissors until proper fit is obtained. Do not attempt to shift the position of the StomaShield once you have attached it to the neck as it will not adhere properly a second time. When showering, remove the StomaShield and use the stoma protective device you normally use. If you expel mucus, simply raise the lower edge of the StomaShield to wipe it away.
